Scientech 2208, Armstrong Frequency Modulator and Demodulator is a self contained Analog Communication board which provides an in-depth study of the basic Armstrong Modulator and Armstrong Frequency Modulation technique. It consists of an FM modulator which uses the Armstrong Method of Frequency Modulation with the help of a DSB-SC Balanced Modulator, Carrier wave phase shifter and an Operational Amplifier based adder. The Armstrong FM Modulator demonstrates the principles of indirect frequency modulation based on the Armstrong method, providing a clear understanding of FM signal generation.
Also a Demodulator section which demodulates the FM wave with PLL detector and a filter followed by an amplifier. Three different experiments demonstrate how an FM wave is generated using the Armstrong method and then demodulated to recover the original modulating signal. The setup enables students to understand the operating principles of an Armstrong FM transmitter and the implementation of the Armstrong method for indirect frequency modulation.
Scientech 2208 is a versatile and self-contained training system designed to provide a thorough understanding of Armstrong Frequency Modulation and FM communication techniques. The trainer enables students to study the working principles of an Armstrong Modulator, observe the generation of FM signals, and analyze the complete modulation and demodulation process through practical experimentation. With clearly marked functional blocks and onboard test points, learners can easily correlate theoretical concepts with real-world signal behavior.
Armstrong Frequency Modulation is an indirect method of generating FM signals. It uses phase modulation techniques along with frequency multiplication to produce stable and accurate frequency-modulated waveforms for communication systems.
An Armstrong Modulator is a circuit used to generate FM signals through indirect modulation. It typically employs a balanced modulator, phase shifter, and summing amplifier to create frequency modulation with high stability.
The Scientech 2208 trainer helps students study the principles of Armstrong Frequency Modulation, FM signal generation, and demodulation through practical experiments using dedicated modulation and demodulation circuits.
The Armstrong FM Modulator generates FM signals by combining a phase-shifted carrier signal with a modulated signal produced through a balanced modulator. This indirect approach provides excellent frequency stability and signal quality.
The trainer is suitable for engineering students, communication laboratories, technical institutes, universities, and educators who want hands-on experience with FM modulation, demodulation, and analog communication systems.
